EU Proposes Revised Cybersecurity Act to Strengthen Digital Security by 2026
💥 News Flash: EU’s New Cybersecurity Act @channel The original EU Cybersecurity Act came into force about 7 years ago. Since then, the threat landscape has changed dramatically. With increasing digitalization comes opportunity - but also a growing number of cyber risks and attacks. Against this, the European Commission is currently revising the Cybersecurity Act. Last week, a new cybersecurity package was proposed to further strengthen the EU’s cybersecurity resilience and capabilities. The revision aims to:
make EU’s information and communication technologies supply chains more secure
ensure that digital products and services used by EU citizens are tested for security in a more efficient way
make it easier for companies to comply with cybersecurity rules
reinforce the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) to support EU countries in dealing with common threats
With several major regulations such as NIS2, the EU AI Act and the revision of the Cybersecurity Act, compliance will be a real challenge for teams in 2026. As of now, this is still a proposal and is being debated before any EU-wide implementation.
How are your teams preparing to stay compliant in 2026? ⚖️
