The Importance of Cybersecurity in Schools: A Call to Action

Hi, my name is Joachim Herrmann, and I am the COO of the International School of Luxembourg, a private K-12 school teaching in English and following the International Baccalaureate curriculum. You might wonder why HufiCon is important to me. I believe strongly that schools are among the prime targets for cyber criminals, and yet, many schools remain remarkably naïve in how they address these risks. Too often, cybersecurity simply does not come to the attention of educators and administrators, even though the data we handle concerns some of the most vulnerable individuals in society—our students.
